Surroundings
Coombe Farm House is set back from the hustle and bustle of this thriving seaside town, yet close enough to enjoy all the attractions and public houses, cafes and restaurants. There is an excellent theatre, which hosts a variety of shows and plays throughout the year.
The popular Victorian pier offers rides and entertainments for children of all ages. Teignmouth has a huge and superb sandy beach manned by lifeguards at peak season.
There are award winning children’s play areas which your children simply won’t want to leave!

Along the length of the seaward edge of town is the historical 'Den,’ a huge open space with lawns and flower beds, a fantastic huge play area for children of all ages, it includes a water park in peak season, where children jump on the ground pumps to produce various springs of water (Parentals Tip - take towel and change of clothing). Adjacent to this, is the historical elegant promenade for strolling and taking in the sea air. We strongly suggest you stop at the Pier for a wonderful Devonshire ice cream. Should the weather not be favourable, the Pier is a great distraction for children and adults both, great rides and games. The national park is perfect for a relaxing walk and enjoying the natural beauty of Devon.
The estuary side (or Back Beach as it is called by the locals)
is a beautiful part of this town. Watching the sunset over
the moored boats with Shaldon in the distance overlooking the river is unforgettable. The River Beach has a selection of Inns with outdoor seating where you can enjoy a bottle of wine watching the sun set.
Even 4 year olds can't help but take in this kind of beauty!

Teignmouth
has an excellent train station and options for daytrips
are numerous: Paignton Zoo, Living Coasts, Torquay, Torbay,
Dawlish, Exeter, Plymouth and several children's
adventure parks. Other activities available in the surrounding areas include a wide selection of water
sports, golf , sailing, horseriding, cycling, boat trips
and even helicopter trips. Teignmouth is the ideal holiday location, offering options for everybody.
The
House

Coombe Farm House is a beautiful and charming thatched
house dating back to the 17th century. Set on three
floors, the house has exposed beams, original doors and fireplaces, and other interesting
features.
The large kitchen has all the modern amenities
required: dishwasher, microwave, coffee maker, fridge freezer
and a wonderful double Aga, and is furnished to a very high
standard.
There is a separate utility room fitted with washing machine
and tumble dryer.

The sitting room is a very large comfortable room with
a woodburning stove fire and exposed beams. It is generously equipped
with digital TV, video, DVD, and stereo music system.
The dining room has a lovely ambience and is perfect for family get togethers.
There is a convenient wet room with WC on the ground floor, ideal for washing sandy children.

The bedrooms are arranged on two floors, with 2 double bedrooms, 2 twin rooms and two single rooms all beautifully furnished.
The family bathroom, complete with separate shower and Victorian roll-top bath, is both luxurious and in the traditional style.

The best Percale linen is provided free of charge. All the rooms have lovely character features. The beds have good quality mattresses for a good nights sleep.
The bedrooms are furnished in antique furntiture, all in keeping with this lovely house.


The
gardens
The front garden is filled with lavender and rosemary and
is oriented for enjoying the sun. The back garden is both
secluded and spacious. A gate leads to a small field that
is bordered by the parkland and a stream.
Please note : As in most vast areas - Small children should be supervised in the garden at all times
The courtyard
is ideal for relaxing and barbecues.
- BBQ and outdoor seating
are all provided.
There is a garden room with pool table and darts board in the courtyard.

The Coach House
The coach house is adjacent to the Main House. Furnished to a very high standard and in keeping with the building. 2 single bedrooms and 2 double bedrooms, plus 2 Bathrooms, 1 with bath with attached shower head and one a shower room.
